Color & Food

History

Color has influenced product development and buying decisions across several industries. Whether we realize it or not, color is one of the most important factors when choosing which food to buy.

This factor impacts hundreds of industries such as fashion, home furnishings, industrial design, product, packaging, and graphic design. Among all of these, the grocery store might be the most impactful place.

BLUE FOOD

Many weight loss plans suggest blue plates to eat food out of because less food gets consumed due to the nature of the color. In addition, the use of blue lights in dining areas has also led to less food consumption. Most of the vegetables we eat are green or red. Besides blueberries, the color blue is not naturally found in our food. As a result, the color blue does not have an automatic response towards our appetite.
